Kale Chips

Ingredients :

  • One big bunch of kale

  • 4 spoons of Cashew “Butter”, or almond “butter”

  • 1 orange juice

  • 1 lime juice

  • 1 tbs of cumin powder

  • 3 tbs of grounded sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds

  • Pepper, Paprika, nutmeg, pinch of salt

  • Cayenne pepper (optional) if you like a spicy version!

Steps

  1. Wash the kale and chop in chip size pieces.

  2. In a separate bowl Add the almond “butter” (or other “butter” of your choice) with the grounded seeds.

  3. Add the lemon and orange juice. You might have to add a spoon or two of water, to make it more liquid (But careful not too much otherwise you will have to cook them for longer time). It should still be like mayonnaise consistency.

  4. Add the spices, taste to check if it is seasoned according to your taste, mix and finally pour the sauce on top of the kale and mix well. The best is to use your hands to stir it well!

  5. Using a dehydrator or your oven heat, set the temp to max 70° C.

  6. Spread out the chips and leave for at least 3-4 hours or until they are fully dry (might take longer or shorter depending on where you live!).

Note: You might want to store with some humidity absorber packs you find in some supplements to avoid humidity. Otherwise your chips will become mushy!
